We restrict the mirrored stations to a small geographically distributed subset that historically appears in most teaching curricula: Mauna Loa (MLO), Barrow (BRW), South Pole (SPO), Trinidad Head (THD), and Mace Head (MHD). Each station’s monthly mean text file is pulled in full from the GML CCGG flask surface archive.
We select fewer than ten high-citation Northern Hemisphere conifer chronologies from the ITRDB measurements directory, prioritising long, well-documented series with established crossdating. The list is hand-curated; we do not attempt anything resembling a representative sample.
No raster tiles are mirrored. Only the per-tile XML metadata sidecars are kept, intended as a teaching aid for the MODIS sinusoidal grid scheme.
A single reference table only, summarising commonly cited above-ground biomass density figures by biome from the published literature, with citations.
Each collection page links to its exact upstream directory. To reproduce a mirror tree:
wget -N -r -np -nH --cut-dirs=N <upstream-url>
where N is the number of leading upstream path components to strip; consult each collection page for the value used.
